Shelter 6

Sarah Duclos, artistic director, Catherine Stewart, co-director and writer, and Clarice Perryman, cast member and dancer join me on All In to talk about “SHELTER: A One Billion Rising Event.” SHELTER depicts the history of women seeking refuge, the emergence of shelters in the 1970s and where we as a nation stand on these issues today. Through dance, theatre and film, SHELTER amplifies the stories of real women, whose voices often go unheard, and explores the triumphs and challenges these vital services face. The event benefits Haven, a domestic violence shelter.

Song choices: 1st song: “I Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd (Catherine); 2nd song: “You Know Where to Find Me” by Imogen Heap (Clarice); 3rd song: “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” by Gil Scott Heron (Sarah)
